Hogwarts: The History is a play-by-post game found on Yahoo Groups. It is an Alternate Universe Role Playing Game based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The game starts out in 990 and is following not only the start of the school from the view of the founders, but also many original characters as well.

A knight, a scholar, a lady, and a dame are making their way north for a castle they have spent the last five years of their life building. In three months time, the front doors of this well built fortress will open - offering shelter to witches and wizards of all ages refuge from those who would persecute them. Inside these walls, the most amazing things will be taught to any interested who carry the talent required.
For now, Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Helga Hufflepuff are spending their last summer traveling their homelands, looking for last minute applicants and enjoying the pleasant summer weather (and for Britain, that is saying something!) before heading off to fulfill the goal that they have all worked for for longer than any of them can remember.
